L’académie artistique américaine, Grand Central Atelier organise certaines années une compétition de peinture sur le thème des Natures mortes, la dernière a eu lieu en 2014.
Still-Life Compétition 2017
Cette Atelier enseigne le dessin et la peinture académique sous la houlette d’artistes-professeurs exceptionnels comme Jacob Collins, Colleen Barry, Sarah Lamb, Tony Curanaj et bien d’autres que vous retrouverez sur le blog de l’atelier.
Cette compétition se déroule sur 5 jours à raison de 8 h de travail par jour. 12 artistes ont été sélectionnés et doivent apporter les objets de leur composition. 17 objets-mystère sont dévoilés au début de la compétition et 3 doivent obligatoirement être inclus dans la nature morte.

Les artistes ne concourent pas sous leur nom mais sous un pseudo, voici les 4 étapes du travail de chacun jour après jour .

J’espère que vous aurez autant de plaisir que moi à découvrir le travail de ces 12 artistes durant les 4 premiers jours. Le déroulement de la compétition permet d’apprécier le style et la technique de chacun et d’en tirer des leçons.
La fin du challenge sera l’objet de mon prochain article mais je vous laisse le soin d’aller le découvrir vous-même sur le site de GCA et de voir aussi d’autres épreuves ainsi que le talent des élèves et de leur professeurs .
